Inspired by the beauty of nature, the designs are separated into individual layers, with every mountain, tree, cloud and reflection thoughtfully positioned to build a three-dimensional scene.
Using a laser cutter, each layer is precisely cut from a selection of natural hardwoods and plywoods, including basswood, poplar, walnut and red oak. The unique grain, colour and character of each wood is chosen to enhance the finished artwork, ensuring that no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
Once cut, every component is carefully cleaned, shaped and assembled by hand in my workshop. Layer by layer, the scene comes to life as the individual pieces are positioned to create depth, shadows and visual interest. This meticulous process transforms flat sheets of wood into detailed landscapes that capture the beauty of mountains, forests, lakes and night skies.
From the initial concept to the final assembly, every piece is personally crafted by me, making each artwork a unique celebration of nature, craftsmanship and creativity.
