Settling Into the New Craft Room & My Latest Creations

Published on 27 January 2026 at 19:23

Hi all,
I hope you’re keeping well and haven’t been too affected by the extreme weather—whether you’re here in the UK or reading from somewhere further afield. Where I am, it hasn’t been too cold and we’ve avoided the snow, but the rain has been relentless. Today especially has been a perfect “stay indoors and make things” kind of day, which worked out beautifully because I finally had the chance to settle into my new craft room.

My husband and I recently moved the craft room from the third bedroom into the larger spare room so I could fit in the new laser cutter, the Cricut machine, and—let’s be honest—my mountain of materials. The extra space has made such a difference. It feels like a proper creative studio now, and I’m loving how much easier it is to move between projects.

Lately I’ve been focused on mastering the Sculpfun laser cutter I was gifted for Christmas, along with the LightBurn software that runs it. After a bit of trial and error, I think I’m finally getting the hang of the settings. So far I’ve made a few coasters, a “Welcome” sign, and a steampunk‑inspired wise old owl framed design. I’d love to know what you think of them—pop your thoughts in the comments. One thing I’ve already learned: paint before assembly unless you enjoy accidental splatter patterns!

There’s been a little papercutting too. I finished a pair of sweet designs featuring playful cats sitting at a window. These will be going up on the site later today and will be £10 for the pair.

Next on my list is to keep your Instagram and Facebook feeds filled with daily updates—and maybe even try my hand at some reels featuring me in action. If that’s something you’d enjoy, come follow along:

Thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

Love and light,
Annette
